•Docent - Auldbrass
Artist, naturalist, and building designer (James) Jim Klippel has been fascinated with Wright since finding A NATURAL HOUSE FLW, in a library. Currently, and for over a decade, he has volunteered as a Docent at Mr. Joel Silver's Auldbrass Plantation, and concurrently “Wright Walk” Oak Park.
Jim hopes to fulfill a lifelong dream of visiting every Frank Loyd Wright structure, while sharing the adventure with family, and a grandson. Jim’s father, and grandfather were leading edge mentor engineers. One developing rubber and plastics, and dad a land-sat. engineer who designed and sold the first satellite dish system to (TBS), Atlanta. Father Howard, also designed the family home in the 1960s, a redwood timber frame and glass (deck-tree house), which highly influenced Jim.
Mr Wright's complete comprehension of how nature and man should blend the living engineered sculpture with inspired natural living, is something that captivated Klippel. An avid outdoor enthusiast himself, Jim often designs his new homes while spending time outside hiking , kayaking, or fly fishing. His Terra Homage collection of home designs are a self proclaimed influence of Wright teachings. WHAT WOULD MR. WRIGHT DESIGN IF HERE TODAY? www.terrahomage.com
